The Cincinnati Right to Life organization is hosting three different contests this year for young people to voice their support for Right to Life and the end to abortion. Here is the information I have at this point:
Pro-Life Contests for Every Student – Oratory, Poetry, Poster
February 1, 2008–Public, private, and home school students are invited to participate in the following age-appropriate pro-life contests. Students may participate on their own, or through their schools:Junior/Senior Oratory ContestRight to Life of Greater Cincinnati’s annul Oratory Contest for high school juniors and seniors will be held Saturday, March 15, 2008, place and time TBA. Cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50 are awarded to the 1st-3rd place winners respectively. The first place winner competes at the state level in Columbus April 26, 2008 for a chance to compete nationally. Download a registration form and rules and send in your registration today! Registration deadline March 7, 2008. Additional information will be mailed to you upon receipt of your registration form.
High School Poetry ContestRight to Life of Greater Cincinnati is accepting submissions for the first annual pro-life Poetry Contest for high school students, grades 9-12. Poetry of any style may be submitted, creatively addressing the effects of abortion on our culture, people, and/or ways of thinking and acting. Cash prizes are awarded for first, second, and third place winners ($100, $75, $50). Download an entry form. Deadline for submissions with entry form March 15, 2008.
Poster ContestStudents grades K-8 are invited to participate in our annual Poster Contest. Winners are chosen from three categories–K-2nd, 3rd-5th, and 6th-8th. This year’s theme is Forever Precious, All Human Life. A first place $25 prize plus 2nd and 3rd place ribbons are awarded for the winners in each category. Download Poster Contest information and registration form and send your poster today!. Submission deadline March 15, 2008.
